...häufig gestellte Fragen zu den Volleyballkursen
1. Was erwartet mich in den Volleyballkursen?
Was bedeutet das genau?
...frequently asked questions about the volleyball courses
1. What can I expect from the volleyball courses?
These volleyball courses are designed for skill development. This means the goal is to improve your volleyball skills according to your specific playing level.
Generally, volleyball is only fun when all participants know how to play. Otherwise, the game lacks flow, and the enjoyment factor suffers significantly. The better you play, the more you will enjoy the sport.
As a team sport, volleyball is characterized by a strong sense of community—and that's true here at Unisport, too.
2. The course requirements specify "regular attendance" throughout the entire semester. What exactly does this mean?
As mentioned above, these are skill-building courses. Naturally, you will only see improvement if you attend training sessions very regularly.
You are allowed a maximum of two absences per semester. Please only sign up if you can genuinely commit to regular attendance throughout the entire semester.
Exception: This rule does not apply to courses held during the semester break.
3. Why is there a selection session?
Demand for our courses is very high every semester. To allocate course spots as fairly as possible, we hold a selection session during the first two scheduled meetings.
During the selection session, we verify whether you meet all the prerequisites for the specific course.
Participation in the selection session is mandatory. Anyone who does not attend will not receive a spot in the course.
If, in an exceptional case, you are unable to attend one of the two sessions, please contact Michael Seibold via email immediately after booking the course and before the first session takes place.
If you cannot attend one of the selection sessions, your chances of securing a spot in the course will decrease.
4. What happens if I don't get a spot in the course during the selection session?
We offer new courses four times a year (two semester-long courses and two holiday courses), meaning you can sign up for the next course when it opens. After the selection session, you will also know which course is the right one for you to sign up for next time.
5. Do I need to cancel if I cannot attend the course?
If you decide not to take up your spot or are no longer interested in the course, please notify Michael Seibold via email. This allows us to reassign the spot to someone on the waiting list.
6. Do I need to arrive on time for the scheduled sessions?
Of course. Volleyball is a team sport; we start together and finish together.
7. Are there volleyball tournaments at the University of Hohenheim?
We compete in the mixed league organized by the volleyball association (VLW). Students in the advanced courses have the opportunity to participate.
Please feel free to contact the coaching team if you have any questions, suggestions, or requests.
We look forward to seeing you!
